You might have noticed that Google went dark yesterday. (No, your browser wasn’t crashing on you.) If you didn’t click through the links to find out why, it was to draw attention to Earth Hour, an event created by the World Wildlife fund to make a statement about climate change and increase awareness of ways to save energy.

David Pogue’s recent review of the Flip camcorder is well worth reading. Not only does he write about the most successful gadget you probably never heard of (I hadn’t — and it has 13 percent of the camcorder market, mainly because it’s perfect for the YouTube generation), but it’s an excellent object lesson in the KISS principle: keep it simple, stupid.
