Feedjit

Feedjit is a pretty cool little app that lets you see in real time (and for free) who is visiting your site or blog. Most of the time I’ve seen it in action, it’s on a blog widget that displays to all visitors who’s been there and when.

However, bloggers can still access the information while hiding the widget from view. It’s a pretty simple process that’s detailed in a number of places online. Here’s one of them.

Hmmmm … looks like LOHAD is getting traffic from India, Iceland, Indonesia, South Korea and Malaysia. And Herndon Virginia. Which is where CIA headquarters is located. I wonder if someone there is trying to understand why LOHAD is getting traffic from in India, Iceland, Indonesia, South Korea and Malaysia.

Ridiculous Internet Marketing

Every once in a when when there’s nothing major happening in online marketing news, or I get bored noodling around the latest trade newsletters and blogs, or I’m still trying to wake up in the morning, I Google various phrases that may or may not turn up interesting results.

This morning I Googled “ridiculous internet marketing” and came up with this December 2011 article from ZD Net. It’s worth the read, if only to remind us about the idiots out there who help make internet marketing a profession that’s respected about as much as used car salesmen and telemarketers.
