Is This What An American Revolution Looks Like?

Monday, October 3rd, 2011

If you’re a news junkie, and probably even if you’re not, you’re likely to be hearing a lot in the days to come about the Occupy Wall Street movement. Politics of what’s happening aside, social media is playing a big part in this story, so here’s something of a links primer to get you started in case you want to keep an eye on things.

Occupy Wall Street site. (Check out the chat room!)

Search results page on Twitter for the hashtag #OccupyWallStreet.

OccupyTVNY news channel on YouTube.

The official website of the general assembly of the OWS movement.

Livestream page where live video coverage from Wall Street can be found.

Coup Media Group link to “official demands” of the OWS movement.

There’s a ton of material out there — all you really need to do is pay attention to the #OccupyWallStreet Twitter feed for about two minutes and you’ll see links to all sorts of material. A lot of the “advice” sounds a lot like the business plan put forth by the South Park gnomes, but it generally makes for fun reading. And if you’re interested in how to tweet, Dwayne Johnson explains in 140 characters or less.
